Roadside began when our Owen (CEO) was working at a diesel shop as a tire technician, servicing trucks in the shop and on the road. It was here that he experienced first-hand the inefficient work loads, the overwhelming demand for service, and trucks experiencing long downtimes. Always analyzing and strategizing, an idea came to mind for a solution but he had no experience in software. He'd need help...

With friends pursuing bachelor's degrees in computer science, Owen pitched them his idea for an app. They wanted it for their senior design project and he offered his app on one condition: they turn it into a business once the class was over. The team agreed and partnered with a local trucking company to build what would become the foundation of Roadside.
Where are we today?
After talking with our first users and making connections at the Mid-America Truck Show 2026, we've decided to refine our focus specifically on mobile vendors. We're developing Roadside to further be a tool for mobile vendors to source work, build community, and tackle the issues of the industry together.
